Custom WordPress Themes

Im undecisive, should i download a theme and redesign it for my blog or should i custom design my very own theme. The question is do i have the skills and time to achieve a fully working wordpress theme? or is it easier to just redesign a current theme in time for my objectives deadline.

Webdesignerwall has a really good post about creating your own custom wordpress theme, explaining the basics of what to do and it says you dont need to know much about php but alil about html and css. How could i resist :)

My current theme is a redesign of pinkflower. I really like it at the moment, its got some cool visuals and its eye catching too, what do you think?

    Modifying a theme is the best way to learn the construction of the templates so getting knee-deep in a well designed theme is invaluable learning.
